Studies Shows the risks and the rewards through crossing the border

Now that I have looked deeper and deeper into immigration I have a better understanding why people would risk their lives to cross borders.  People cross the American/Mexican border for one of three reasons; 1 is to smuggle illegal items into The USA, two is to get a better job or just live a safer life, and lastly they come to bring their family into a world where they think that everything is easy with or healthcare and all the perks our country offers compared to Mexico.  The whole idea about people risking everything to have a better life makes me feel like I have a great life here and makes me want to show people that they don't have it as bad as people trying to make something out of nothing.  In the book The Distance Between Us the father and the mother risk it all crossing the border illegally to start a new life which I cant imagine doing coming from what my family has.  The family in the end risk it all to come for a better life to see that where they live is actually not better it is just the same, and how the perfect life they thought they would have went to shit because of how their father treated them and how the place they lived treated them.
