Number of unaccompanied minors crossing into U.S. tops 60,000

This artifact was an article that revels that the number of people that have crossed the US border has rose enormously to around 60,000. This article shocked me to the fact I did not know that that many minors without an adult  would be apart of  the tens of thousands of  people trying to cross the border illegally. This article also raises the question: Would the Grande children from The Distance Between Us have made it to the U.S. if they were alone? I know that I would probably not be able to deal with the troubles of crossing the border illegally alone. I have been thoroughly surprised at the number of minors trying to reunite themselves with their family. It shows the amazing luck and triumph the Grande's were lucky enough to experienced. Myself have decided that anybody wiling to go to the great lengths as to crossing the border really desires to have a better life in the U.S. This is shown in this article on how the number of young migrants has almost doubled in two years. This has greatly changed my point of view on immigration.
